Tim
Berlew began his career in ministry as the organist and choir director
at a small Lutheran Church in Homestead, Florida at the age of 13. He
continued in that career path until three years ago, earning degrees in
music education, choral conducting and organ performance/church music.
After many years of serving in churches of several denominations he felt
God calling him to a new ministry area. As he completed a Master of
Divinity degree at Duke University, Berlew served a rural congregation
in North Carolina. That loving faith community offered opportunities to
grow in ministry. This current appointment to Memorial Church has
allowed him to return to the upper Midwest, having lived in Grand
Rapids, Michigan from 1986 to 1994. “I look forward to many years of
serving among the people of Memorial Church and growing together with
them in faith as we seek to make new disciples of Jesus Christ.”
